Your retreat begins with a gracious welcome to Château du Sureau…we’ll arrange a short meeting with your guide to ensure you are properly prepared for your trek…take some time to explore the Estate…enjoy a light dinner and a refreshing night’s sleep…

The next morning, after a protein rich breakfast, your adventure begins!   Escape up to the High Country for a two day/one night backpacking and hiking trek with your own private naturalist guide.  After a moderate hike, you’ll set up your base camp lakeside.  There will be time to swim or relax while your guide prepares your ‘backcountry gourmet’ meals.  As dusk fades to evening, prepare to be dazzled by the starlit sky…

The next morning, wake up to the smell of campfire coffee… and get ready to hit the next hiking trail… breathe in the fresh air… listen to the silence… and marvel at the panoramic vistas along the way…

Later that afternoon, you’ll receive a warm welcome back to the Château.  Reward your tired body with our soothing and nourishing Sierra Spa Package treatments in Spa du Sureau.  In the evening, reflect on your accomplishments while enjoying a twinkling candlelit dinner in the privacy of our intimate Chateau dining room.  Adjourn to your guestroom for a restful slumber.

An optional fourth day is reserved for complete relaxation here on the Estate – sit by the pool, listen to music, read a good book, and get ready for a scrumptious 5 course dinner at the Elderberry House Restaurant.

After a wonderful breakfast, you’ll find your body and spirit recharged, as we bid you farewell with our Best of Both Worlds Retreat.
